Philosophy and Mission Statements

The Learning Tree is committed to creating a safe, warm, loving environment for children where they can learn and grow physically, emotionally, creatively, intellectually, and socially at their own pace. We want to help your child increase their confidence, and self-esteem by treating them as unique individuals, and allowing them to express themselves in a variety of facets. Our aim is to make your child’s experience at The Learning Tree as positive as possible.

Joan Largie

Hello, my name is Joan Largie I am an Early Childhood Educator. I have an Early Childhood Degree from Brooklyn College and a Master’s Degree from Grand Canyon University. I am also certified by Florida Department of Education in grades pre-k to 3rd grade, English Second Language and K-12 Reading. I am currently employed at the Brevard County Schools as an Instructional Coach and worked for 25 years serving grades pre-k, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 7th grade, 8th grade and 9th grade.


During the 25 years I also served as a Reading Coach and a Response to Intervention (RTI) Coach for Brevard County Schools. I have two sons, one is currently serving in the Air Force and the other is an engineer. I have three grand children ranging from ages 1month -6 years old. Two years ago, my husband and I were able to fulfill our dream and we purchased a childcare center. That childcare center is now called, The Learning Tree Academy of Palm Bay.
